Paul Johnston
Paul Johnston is an operaphile/audiophile/balletomane residing in New York City. He first saw Norma performed at the Metropolitan Opera in the fall of 1981, several days after Renata Scotto's opening night when a claque of Callas devotees undeservedly booed her at the beginning of "Casta Diva". Unlike Roberto Alagna, she stayed and sang all her notes. He awaits the Robert Wilson production of Norma starring Renée Fleming in the title role. It is scheduled to arrive at the Met in 2011 New York City time, or by the next Millennium in Robert Wilson time.
